I saw this painting at the Huntington Library in Pasadena. It is a small painting, originally part of a diptych. Rogier van der Weyden painted exquisitely detailed religious works. I feel very fortunate to have seen this painting up close. The jeweled border of the Madonna's cloak is photographically realistic, her face is delineated delicately. A masterpiece.
