Soul Sisters

I've been getting into 1960s soul music, especially female singers. These women blow me away with their soulfulness. They're still around, too.
Bettye LaVette - does a fantastic version of Cry Me a River
Brenda Holloway - Every Little Bit Hurts
Betty Everett - You're No Good (later a hit by Linda Ronstadt)
Irma Thomas - does a famous version of Time is On My Side

My dearest Karen,

My best and closest friend since my teen years happens to be named Karen. Another friend from work who would do anything for you even if you didn't ask is also named Karen. I have only met beautiful souls with this name pinned on their persona and you are another one of them and I’m so very glad our roads have met.
Are you sure you’re not a librarian??? I feel like I’m entering a library when I come to visit your blog. I definitely must put my window and thrift shopping aside, get seriously into my writing and reading and catch up with some of the most marvelous inspirational and informative blogs I’ve come across of late, not to mention, take some time to list some of my favorite muses. I adore yours!
I think we are very much alike. I love walled-in gardens {I spoke of a cemetery one in the poem I wrote {http://pastoraldreams.blogspot.com/2007/02/other-side-of-happiness_25.html}, Doré, Houdini-fascinating in mystery and intrigue, Bocklin and so much more. I MUST make time to read your archives. I’m sure I have missed so much!
Soul sisters is an appropriate post for I think I have found one with you!

Luv Annabelle
