Boris Karloff was born William Henry Pratt on November 23, 1887 in London England. His most famous role was that of the Frankenstein monster in the 1931 classic film Frankenstein. He played many horror and villainous roles in his career but in real life was a very charitable and caring man. He died on February 2, 1969 in Midhurst, England.

This still is from "The Body Snatcher" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Karloff played the malevolent cabman, John Gray.
From IMDB comments,
Karloff is chillingly perfect in the role of the sly coachman who augments his salary with a little grave robbing. A gentle man who is kind to crippled children, yet can murder without a second thought, Karloff paints the cunning portrait of a very human monster.

Ah without a great actor there is no great horror flick! Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Peter Lorie, Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Anthony Hopkins...all fantastic actors of the macabre. Give me an old horror flick to watch and I wouldn't leave the room until it’s over... that is, with all the lights on...haha.
Thanks for stirring the mind waves of the old flicks. I'm due for one actually quite a few.
p.s. What do you think of "The Turn of the Screw"-The Innocents???? Love it!!!!
See ya Luv Annabelle
I saw The Innocents many years ago, and it was really scary. Those children were precocious...*shiver*. Boris Karloff always seems so sad, it is quite endearing.
